In Prayer you will:
Deepen your faith, grow your relationship with God, build stronger personal church relationships, receive power from the Holy Spirit, spend precious time with the Lord and be rejuvenated by the Lord.
Our Burnt Hickory family has a strong heart for prayer and since we all spend time with the Lord in prayer and in His Word, and we need a strong net of prayer under-girding all areas of our church; everyone is encouraged to be a part of the prayer support in addition to the other ministries in which you serve.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR SERVICE:
FOR ALL CHILDREN, STUDENTS and ADULTS:
Kingdom Intercessors – God is on the move doing new things with prayer at Burnt Hickory this year. He is putting in place many prayer groups to support all our staff and ministry leaders and their ministries. We now have prayer groups in place and more people are stepping forward every month! Each group meets regularly, one time monthly in person, some more. In addition they ZOOM, FaceBook, email or have phone calls as needed. Groups include: Children's, Students, Adults, Missions, Celebrate Recovery, Single Moms, Mentoring, Women’s Ministry and many more.

Special Events Team – Enjoy serving others to organize and promote special prayer events and efforts such as Prayer Vigils, National Day of Prayer, church/schools/community/state Prayer Walks and periods of prayer and fasting.
FOR ADULT BHBC MEMBERS (18 years old & no longer in High School):
Altar Prayer – Those with a heart to pray for those drawn to the altar during the invitation on Sunday mornings. Need to be former or current deacon or Life Group teacher. (Rotating basis)
Intercessory Prayer Chain – Intercede in prayer 24/7 for urgent and life/death situations. (by Email)
Outreach Team – Reach out by phone to have prayer with those who have put in a prayer requests.
Power Source – Kingdom praying during the morning worship services (9:30a & 11a) for the lost, the services, the pastor, staff & volunteers, Christian growth for our members, for the lost, our community & country. (Rotating basis)
Prayer Admin Team – Serve in various administrative functions including calling for updates, updating prayer requests, sending notes of encouragement and computer input.
Prayer Room Intercessor – “Heart” of the church prayer support. Intercessors spend 1 scheduled hour weekly, bi-weekly or monthly lifting up the confidential and non-confidential prayer requests.
Prayer Walking Team – Pray a special prayer covering over our people as this team walks through our Burnt Hickory building weekly and before special church events.
“Shine Your Light” Card Ministry - Based on Matt 5:16. This team wants to Shine their Light to others, bringing Light, Hope and Encouragement to the ones they are writing.
