Accept Christ as Your Savior

If You Want to Become a Christian

God loves you. And He wants you to experience peace and an abundant and eternal life.

The problem is that we are separated from Him. God created us in His own image with the intent to love and obey Him, but also with the freedom to choose. We chose to disobey God and follow our own willful way. This puts is in opposition to God.

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 3:23

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

We might try to bridge the gap between us and a Holy God by changing our behavior and attempting to do good things, but the bible tells us we cannot work our way back into grace or pay the sacrifice ourselves. We need a savior. And there's only one.

5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,
1 Timothy 2:5

18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.
1 Peter 3:18

8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8

God has provided the only way. Each person must make a choice.

So if Christ is the only way, then what should you do? Receive Christ! You must believe and trust that He is Lord, that He died as a payment for your sins, and personally invite Him to be your savior.

20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
Revelation 3:20

12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—
John 1:12

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9

Will you receive Jesus Christ right now?

Here is how you can receive Christ:

  1. Admit your need (I am a sinner).
  2. Be willing to turn from your sins (repent).
  3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross and rose from the grave.
  4. Through prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come in and control your life through the Holy Spirit
(receive Him as Lord and Savior)
