Mark 10:13–16

13 People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” 16 And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Childlike Faith:

TRAIT 1: Radical

Mark 10:14

When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”

Proverbs 3:5–6

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Matthew 6:26, 33

26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?… 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Romans 8:15

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

TRAIT 2: Total

Mark 10:15

“Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

John 1:12–13

12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God — 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

Ephesians 2:8–9

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

TRAIT 3: Teachable and

Mark 10:16

And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Psalm 25:9

He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.

Mark 10:15

“Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Matthew 18:3

And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
